先週から客先のビルのＢ１にほぼ常駐状態。
地下は外が見えないので時間感覚を奪われますね。
小雨の中、外の開放感にほっとしながら昼ごはんを買いに近くのam/pmに向かう。
少し肌寒かったので暖かそうなジャンバラヤ弁当に手が伸びた。
会計を済ませながら
「今日はジャンバラヤの語源かな…なんか普通。」
そんなことを考えた。
ジャンバラヤの語源。
ネットで探すと意外と見つからないんだな～。
まずはgoo辞書。

「ジャンバラヤ 意味」などで検索の結果、とりあえず見つかったのは以下の三つ。
１、「ジャンが作った」から
２、フランス語でハムを意味する"jambon（ジャンボン）"から
３、ごった煮
さて、どれが正しいのでしょう！？
１は以下のサイトより。

う～ん、ありそうだが…"jam"はいいとして"balaya"は？
２もありそう。
でも１もそうだが如何せん載せているページが少ないので決め手がないなぁ。
３は…それ何語[079]チャンプルかと。
しかし本当に見つからない。
日本語のサイトは限界かな。
なもんで"jambalaya"で検索。
あちこち彷徨うこと1時間。
どうやら"jambon à la ya"が語源らしい。
"jambon"はフランス語で「ハム」、"ya"はアフリカの言葉で「米」、"à la"はフランス語、スペイン語で「～風の」「～を添えた」の意味。
また、言い伝えとして、昔々のニューオーリンズである紳士が夜遅くに宿を訪れたところ、宿主が夕食を用意するためコックのジャンに「ジャン、（台所の残り物を）掃き集めろ！」という意味のフランス語で"Jean,Balayez"と言ったのを紳士が聞いて「ジャンバラヤ」になった、と言うお話もありました。
探索完了～。
「ジャンバラヤ」め、てこずらせおって。

・Googleで間違った語を検索すると訂正候補を挙げてくれる。
"aaple"を検索すると「予想される検索キーワード：apple」と言った感じで。
それが最近「もしかして: apple」に変わった。
まあそれはいい。
「ジャンバラヤ」を検索すると以下のように表示される。
「もしかして: ジャンパラヤ」
せっかくフレンドリーに訂正してくれたのに間違ってますからァ。
残念ッ！
（でも最初は「ジャンパラヤ」が正しいかと思ってびびった…。）

I don't know whether it's just me or if everybody else encountering problems with your website. It appears like some of the written text in your posts are running off the screen. Can somebody else please provide feedback and let me know if this is happening to them too? This may be a problem with my web browser because I've had this happen before. Kudos
